What are your challenges?

AQAP

The federal Office for Equipment, information technology and use of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBW) demands quality management structures from its contractors according to AQAP (Allied Quality Assurance Publications). This is a NATO quality standard that was developed back in the 1960s and later used as a basis for the development of the ISO 9000 series of standards. The AQAP 2110 and AQAP 2310 standards are of particular importance to suppliers of aircraft components. This is a set of requirements based on EN 9100 and expanded to include NATO specifications, designed for particularly complex projects in the aerospace and defense industries. As a contractor for the BAAINBW, you must implement and comply with this first 2013 published AQAP standard in your company.

To verify the adequacy of the quality management systems, the BAAINBw conducts on-site audits at suppliers’ facilities. We prepare our customers for these.

DEMAR

The German Armed Forces Aviation Authority (LufABw) requires aviation engineering companies operating in the defense industry to comply with specific requirements. These are European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR). These were transposed into national regulations in 2017 and are designated as DEMAR in Germany. Of particular importance for suppliers of aircraft components are DEMAR 21J (Development), DEMAR 21G (Manufacturing), and DEMAR 145 (Maintenance) in contractual relationships with the BAAINBw. These are operating approvals whose requirements are largely based on EASA Part 21 and Part 145.

To verify the adequacy of the quality management systems, the Air Force conducts regular on-site audits at certified facilities. We prepare our clients for these audits by providing consulting services and conducting internal audits.
